What “All-Weather” Actually Means
"All-weather" describes fabric and foam formulated to resist fading, mildew and water absorption better than indoor upholstery - a real durability claim, but not a claim that cushions can be left out permanently in every climate with no care at all.
What the label is actually claiming
On outdoor furniture, "all-weather" generally refers to fabric woven from solution-dyed synthetic fibres (colour resistant to UV fading all the way through the fibre, not just on the surface) paired with a foam or fill that does not hold water the way indoor upholstery foam does. Several listings in the Rattaner range describe water-resistant or anti-slip fabric covers with these properties specifically. That is a real, meaningful durability claim - it is not a claim that the material is indestructible or maintenance-free.
What it does not mean
"All-weather" is not a claim that cushions should be left outdoors through every season in every climate with no cover and no attention. Standing water, prolonged snow load, and extended freezing and thawing cycles are harder on any outdoor fabric than the sun and rain the label is generally addressing.
